About EaCo Chem AcrylicStrip

Solvent-Based Stripper for Acrylics, Sealers, Stains, and Curing Compounds

EaCo Chem AcrylicStrip is a solvent-based paint, stain, and sealer remover built for the jobs where a water-based stripper won’t cut it. Acrylic Strip breaks down layers of acrylics, acrylic latexes, polyurethanes, and other resin coatings, and it is particularly effective at pulling curing compounds off concrete. It goes on with a low-pressure sprayer, brush, or roller and rinses off with cold water – no scrubbing, no heavy equipment, no chasing a gummy coating around the slab.

Key Features

  • Solvent-Based Strength: Cuts through cured acrylic and resin coatings that water-based strippers soften but don’t release.
  • Wide Coating Range: Removes acrylics, acrylic latexes, polyurethane, other resin coatings, and concrete curing compounds.
  • Spray On, Rinse Off: Applies through a low-pressure system, dry brush, rag, or roller. No mechanical abrasion required.
  • Built for Over-Applied Sealers: A common fix for hazed, blotchy, or over-applied paver and hardscape sealers where the only path forward is taking it back to bare substrate.
  • Deck and Wood Prep: Strips old sealer from wood decking to prep the surface for re-staining.
  • Used Undiluted: No mixing, no dilution charts, no ratio errors on the jobsite.

Application Guidelines

  • Apply to a dry surface. Unlike most EaCo Chem products, AcrylicStrip is not pre-wet. The surface must be dry before application.
  • Apply undiluted through a low-pressure application system, dry brush, rag, or roller.
  • Work top down using a side-to-side motion.
  • Dwell a minimum of five minutes, then perform a scratch test.
  • Read the scratch test. If the substrate is visible, you’re ready to rinse. If the coating is gummy but not released, re-apply and dwell an additional ten minutes.
  • Rinse with cold water only — pressure washer, garden hose, or water and brush. On wood, keep the nozzle at least six inches off the surface and stay under the manufacturer’s recommended PSI for the substrate.

Caution: Do not allow AcrylicStrip to dry on the surface. Do not use a zero-degree nozzle. Always test a small area first — coating type, age, and thickness vary widely, and testing determines dwell time and how many applications the job will take.

Coverage

EaCo Chem does not publish a fixed coverage rate for AcrylicStrip, and that’s honest on their part. Coverage depends on substrate porosity, coating type, and how heavily the coating was applied — a single-coat sealer haze and a four-layer resin buildup are not the same job. Test a section, measure what you used, and scale from there.
